Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance
The Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance in Oman are responsible for national, local and regional level emergency preparedness, resilience and response. They are made up of three divisions; the Royal Omani Police, Civil Defense (fire and rescue), and ambulance services.
The 625 delivered consultancy, advisory, training and education services for events involving a CBRNe or hazardous materials component as part of the ongoing improvement of the Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance capacity and capability.
the capability development concentrated on substances such as toxic chemicals, fuels, nuclear waste products, biological, chemical, and radiological agents in the form of liquids, solids, gases, or a combination or form of all three, including dust, fumes, gas, vapor, mist, and smoke capable of damaging health, property and/or the environment as well as mass casualties and mass disruption of society.
Phase A focused on the response to a Chemical, Biological Radiological, Nuclear or explosive (CBRNe) event maliciously initiated, with the intention to kill, sicken or prevent society from continuing with their normal daily business.
Phase B focused on a Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) event in which a release of a dangerous substance was likely to be accidental.
